We have been throwing ourselves wholeheartedly into the lively central NJ theatre scene, courtesy of my brother at nytheatre.com, for whom I have been reviewing.
Two weeks ago, we went to the Crossroads Theatre in New Brunswick and saw Yesterdays: An Evening with Billie Holiday. The theatre is elegant, the feeling intimate and friendly, and we were delighted to be there. Its aim is to embrace diversity, and we — long tired of predominantly all-white older audiences — were glad to be a part of this.
My review of the show, which has since closed, can be found here: http://www.nytheatre.com/Review/nita-congress-2011-2-19-yesterdays-an-evening-with-billie-holiday
